Yunnan Black Tea is generally called Dian Hong in China. Dian Hong translates literally as 'Yunnan Red.' Dian is another name for Yunnan Province. In China, 'black' tea is called 'red' tea because of the reddish brown color of infused liquor. The main difference between Yunnan Black Tea (Dian Hong) and the other Chinese black tea is the amount of fine leaf buds, or "golden tips," presented in the dried tea. It can be easily identified by its luscious soft leaves, and an unique peppery taste.
