Cornflower (plural cornflowers) is a small annual plant in the family Asteraceae, Centaurea cyanus, usually with bushy blue flowers which grows natively in European cornfields (i.e. wheatfields), a plant of the species Cichorium intybus.

The blue cornflowers (Centaurea cyanus) grow in cultivation in Germany. After the blooming of the cornflower blossoms, the whole plant is harvested and dried.
