The basis for this Chinese specialty is a green tea to which during drying time fresh jasmine blossoms have been added. The blossoms are later partially removed. The classical form of flavoring has been known in China for some 1.000 years. The jasmine tea is practically the national drink of the Chinese and is consumed at each time of day and on each occasion. This quality is one of the most consumed. This sweet blend still has quite a lot of blossoms, which leave an intense, flowery jasmine taste and scent.

In China whole green leaf teas are traditionally scented with Jasmine flowers placed in layers within. The petals are harvested during the day and stored cool at night in order to bloom and unfold their full fragrance. According to the desired quality grades the petals are sifted out after processing. For this reason teas vary from light to stronger delicate floral flavors and tastes. The cup has a light, slightly yellow color and already spreads the intense bouquet of jasmine.

This special tea was exclusively reserved for the Imperial Court in former times. Luxury green tea with a lightly yellow cup and the expressive jasmine scent and a light fruity-tangy note.

Our popular "scented tea" from China is now also available in a premium teabag, with a lightly yellow cup and the expressive, typical jasmine scent and a light fruity-tangy note it is an ideal companion for each meal and a real thirst quencher. Depending on the quality of the water, the tea can be infused more than once.

Brewing of Jasmine OP Tea

Place 3g (1tsp) of tea per person in a pot or cup infuser, using boiling water to steep green tea can damage the leaves, so instead use water that is around 80°c (boiling water that has been allowed to cool for 2 minutes), brew for 3 - 5 minutes according to taste.
