How to store herbal tea?

As with any tea, put it in an airtight container and visit a cool place, in addition to several precautions.

The method of storing dry herbal teas has much in common with green and black teas and is not difficult to beat for those who usually enjoy tea. Insulate from air, moisture, and odors, keep in a cool place, and keep out of the light – as long as these things are done, the shelf life of herbal tea will be as long as most teas.

Herbal tea also has to be placed in an airtight container, just not in a metal tea can, because the ingredients in herbal tea will react chemically with metals such as iron and aluminum. The ideal container is a brown or dark blue shaded glass bottle (the same type of bottle used for essential oils). But many herbal teas have a very eye-catching appearance, so it’s a shame to hide them out of sight! If you want to get your fill, you can use a clear sealed glass bottle, just put the bottle out of the sun and finish brewing as soon as possible.

There are a variety of imported herbal tea bags on the market, but when you encounter paper packaging products, you have to keep an eye out for more. Because the paper is breathable, the herbs packed inside may come in contact with the air and gradually oxidize and deteriorate. If you have not opened the package but can smell the fragrance, it means that the risk of oxidation is very high, it is best to put it into a sealed container such as a bottle with the box or wrapper.
